Letest and largest ship of Indian Navy - INS Vikramaditya

India has sent INS Vikramaditya to the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) to keep an eye on China.

There is also Destroyer INS Mysore and Tanker INS Deepak.  India's exercise is seen as a step towards keeping an eye on China.  

The ship first arrived in Colombo and will later reach Mal (Maldives) on 15 February. Read also: LIC Kanyadan policy submission start


INS Vikramaditya's sea voyage


- According to a Navy official, INS Vikramaditya Ta.  Arrived in Colombo on 21-22 January.  For the first time Vikramaditya arrived at a foreign port.

- Ta.  INS Vikramaditya will be in Malલે, the capital of Maldives, from 15 to 18 February. Read also: Download pagar book app form here

- 'Project season' has been conducted under maritime diplomacy.  The purpose is to monitor China's movements in the IOR.

- According to the official, it has taken time to formulate a strategy, but now India has taken over.

Risk from China?


- China wants to expand its reach in the IOR from Pakistan's Gwadar port to Hambantota in Sri Lanka. Read also: Manage your mobile space - Tamara mobile ni space ne manage karo

- On the other hand, India has promised its neighbors and friends under the IOR that it will protect.

- Strategically the Maldives could prove extremely important.  That is why India is extremely vigilant for the Maldives.

Trying to improve relations with the Maldives


- There are 1190 islands in the Maldives.

- The last few years have seen many ups and downs politically in the Maldives.

- India has now taken initiatives to strengthen bilateral relations with the Maldives. Read also: Sukanya samruddhi yojna na 5 challange

- Last month, India's Foreign Secretary S.  Jaishankar had gone to the Maldives as Prime Minister Modi's special envoy.

- President of the Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom announced to hold talks to establish good relations with India.

- Maldives Defense Minister Adam Sharif visited India last month.

- India has also promised to send Dornier aircraft and helicopters.


Work is underway on these plans


- Ten Coastal Surveillance Radar System stations are being set up in collaboration with Madlives to keep a close eye on the IOR.

- Eight stations will be built in the Seychelles, five in the Maldives mainlands and the remaining three on the islands.

- These projects were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March last year.
